Attend our unique 7 day/6 night volleyball trip to the small seaside town of Boca Chica Dominican Republic. You will be put on a team with 15 players. Teams are coached by a guest college coach and Dominican Professional coaches. Players immerse themselves in volleyball and the local Dominican culture. Participants practice and play games against Dominicans. In addition to volleyball, time is set aside to enjoy the beautiful Caribbean beach located with walking distance where players may swim in the turquoise water or relax on the beach.
A day trip may consist of visiting Santo Domingo to tour the historic Colonial Zone, attending a professional volleyball game or taking a catamaran to visit a government protected nature reserve.
Volleyball is used to bridge a cultural gap. Teens will gain valuable skills and confidence by visiting an environment very different than they are used to. Players are exposed to the spirited style of the Dominican players. And have an opportunity to spend the week with a college coach both on and off the court where they will hear tips and insight into the college recruiting process.

Yes. The Dominican Republic has recently become a popular tourist destination for Americans. Dominicans are welcoming people and especially so with volleyball players. We will stay together as a group and players will have a buddy system.
We don’t anticipate any injuries; however in the unlikely event of an accident during a game, we will have a staff member present with Red Cross first aid certification during all baseball games. We have an emergency plan with a state of the art Health Care provider Hospiten. We have a nurse on staff at our hotel.
We maintain a 5 to 1 player to staff ratio. During times that we are not participating in volleyball activities, players will be in groups of four with a coach.
There are several facilities we use. All have clean, simple, double rooms with swimming pools surrounded by palm trees. We sleep two players per room. It is within close walking distance of the beach and the volleyball court.
We eat a combination of Dominican and American food that includes an assortment of beef, chicken, rice and pasta. Tropical fruit (mango, papaya, pineapple, coconut) is in abundance.
Plan to play matches every day with one day off for sightseeing.
We will go to the beach, take a trip to the Colonial Zone in Santo Domingo, visit a Major League Baseball Dominican Academy, learn Dominican volleyball training techniques and assist in a local community service project such as painting a house or visiting an orphanage.
Family members who are interested in coming are welcome to do so. We can offer a family package; the cost depends on selected accommodations.
No. Some Dominicans speak English, although many do not. This makes the trip more interesting and fun. We will have access to interpreters and at least one of our coaches is bilingual.
